Creating an account is required to use Nijer Bus. When you create an account, we collect:
- Name — to personalize your experience within the app
- Email address — used as your account identifier
We do not collect your phone number, physical address, payment information, or any government ID. We do not ask for or store your password in plain text — account credentials are protected using AES‑256‑GCM encryption both on your device and in transit to our server.
Account recovery: Nijer Bus does not offer an automated, in‑app account recovery process. If you need help accessing your account, reach us through the social media platforms linked on the app's About page, and we'll assist you manually.
📍 Location Information
Nijer Bus is a local bus and metro route‑finding application for Dhaka city. To provide accurate route information and nearby bus stops, we request access to your device's location. When granted, we use precise location data (latitude and longitude) to find your current position and suggest nearby routes and stops — this is essential for the app's core route‑finding functionality.

- Sent to the Google Geocoding API to convert coordinates into a readable address
- Used to identify your current area within Dhaka and find relevant routes
- Processed to serve your request and not stored long‑term on our servers

Notifications
Used for service alerts, trip alarms, and app updates. You can disable this anytime from device settings.
Alarms & Reminders NEW
Used to schedule trip alarms and departure reminders so you don't miss your bus or metro. On Android 12 and above, this relies on the "Schedule exact alarms" permission. Alarms are set locally on your device and are not linked to your account or sent to our servers. You can manage or revoke this permission anytime from device settings.

- Account required: you must create an account with your name and email to use Nijer Bus
- What we store: your name and email address, stored on our secured server
- Encryption: account data is protected using AES‑256‑GCM encryption, both on your device and on our server
- Location data: processed in real time to serve your request and not stored long‑term
- Security measures: we apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction
🧒 Children's Privacy
Nijer Bus is not directed at children under the age of 13, and account creation is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information, contact us at developerzh5366@gmail.com and we will remove it.

Location control: manage location access anytime through device settings.
Analytics opt‑out: limit Firebase analytics collection through device settings.
Ad personalization: limit ad tracking or reset your advertising ID through device settings.
Alarms & reminders: disable exact‑alarm scheduling anytime from device settings.
Account & data deletion: permanently delete your account and data in‑app via Settings → Delete Account. This removes your name, email, and saved data from our server — immediate and irreversible.
App data: clear local app data via Settings → Apps → Nijer Bus → Storage → Clear Data, or uninstall the app.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The "Last Updated" date at the top will be revised accordingly. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
